Time to go on down the road.
Well it's been forever since I went to Europe. I just bought a ticket and am excited to see some old friends and hopefully make new ones. I'll be going to the U.K. first making my way down to Spain over to Germany and probably quite a few places in between. I lived in Barcelona for quite a few years and am letting old friends know that I'll soon be there. I always thought my friends would come visit me when I moved to New York. It just didn't work out that way. It's been a long time since I was back in Europe (5 years more or less). We all start to lose touch with what's going on in eachother's lives. It doesn't mean I don't think about them and all the fun times we had. They cross my mind, and so it's time to re-connect. I have been away too long.

Bootsy Collins - I'd Rather Be With You
An amazing track that you could end any night with, and be pretty happy. Has a really deep groove and some super honest lyrics. Bootsy's Rubber Band did this one. Fingersnaps and Wah pedal = bad ass. Find a copy or MP3...
Eazy-E - I'd Rather Fuck You
Shout out to Bootsy Collins for thia amazing masterpiece which inspired E-Z's version. I'll put up the original in a few. RIP E-Z.

Tom Hooker - Indian Girl
Damn, I love this song more every time I hear it. Oh, oh, ohhhh. Makes me laugh so much and although it's probably not too many people's fave, it's one of mine. I can't wait to walk into a bar or club one day with this playing...

William De Vaughn- Be thankful for what you've got (original)
I just got back from Detroit. We spent one afternoon just cruising around. Driving to Belle Isle, no real destination just going down the big open inner city streets. It made me think about the car culture in America. My dad builds old cars and always played oldies when I was growin up. Sometimes you don't need a "real" destination. Whatever happened to just cruisin with your friends??? Why is everyone in such a rush?
