The Pool - Jamaica Running

A very fine record indeed from Austin, Texas of all places. Very strange. I used to see this record floating around quite a bit a few years ago. Haven't seen it a a bit. Of course Kev over in Folkestone, England reminded me of this one. Should probably pull it off the shelf and give it a good dusting off.

Rick Holmes - Remember to Remember

Insane Roy Ayers production that rips. I could see this getting played on Sesame Street back in the day, but I doubt it was ever used on tv. Great keys on this one as it just keeps chuggin along. The female vocals are perfectly in place as well. Get a history lesson by the one and only Mr. Ayers. Amazing summer jam.

Donna Summer - On The Radio

Thanks for all the music you left for us to enjoy. I'll listen for you on the radio.

R.I.P. Donna Summer.

Cheri - Murphy's Law

Here's a funny live clip from Cheri. Check it. This is a dollar bin jam that came out on 3-4 different labels.

Musica Dispersa - Arcano (1970)

An fine example of freaky progressive hippy rock. Wah Wah Records in Barcelona re-issued this album some years ago. Great track that reminds me of the Costa Brava. This group was from Barcelona and you can hear it in an avant garde hypnotic jam band kinda way. Love how the track ends. Amazing what your itunes can remind you of sometimes.

Chic - Soup For One (12" Mix)

So another great Chic track made much more famous by Modjo's "Lady" which was an insanely huge dance track some years back, not necessarily good but whatever. After reading the Nile Rodgers book "Le Freak" I really started to understand just how many records either Bernard Edwards or Nile Rodgers contributed to. The amount of output is insane and goes way beyond Madonna, Sister Sledge and Chic. If you want to learn more about Nile's dysfunctional family and crazy studio hours all while trying to hold Chic together then go buy a copy. You will enjoy it.

Anyway I had to drop this one pitched up last night at a party. Terrible lyrics due to the fact it was for a film by the same name, but great music nonetheless. Chic Organization rarely let's me down.

Armen's in NYC get's another rave review...

Not sure what it is about people in this town, but they always wanna rip you off here. Armen's is a fine example of shit places that make you never wanna drop off your gear for repair jobs. Seems like everyone is shipping stuff to Cali all the time. Oh well...not the first time I heard this place sucks.

New Mix up on Clubbing Spain.

So I recently came into contact again with David Puente from www.clubbingspain.com
whom I hadn't seen in many moons. Somehow he came across my soundcloud page and asked me to do a little interview and mix for the site. A little bit of boogie, house and techno that I threw together. Feel free to check the link below at the bottom. Although the interview is in Spanish, the podcast is only a click away. Enjoy!
